—–DJ Candy Kid – New York City
Hardcore/HHC

Native Belarusian and long-time Brooklynite, Slava a.k.a. DJ Candy Kid has been tearing up dance floors across the United States and Canada with his unique style and adrenaline-packed sets of Happy Hardcore, Gabber, DnB, Breakbit, and Acid & Euro-Trance since 2001.
Slava originally got into electronic music while living in Minsk back in ’93 listening to Marusha, Blumchen, Scooter, WestBam, DJ Hooligan, Das Modul, Dune, Charlie Noise & Mental Theo, Red 5 and Brooklyn Bounce. After his uncle had taught him to dejay at a young age, Slava was able to pursue his dreams of putting smiles on faces and making dance floors shake once he moved to New York City and was able to buy records and dejay equipment.
You can retrace DJ Candy Kid’s first dejay set back to NYC’s Halloween 2001. Since then, Slava has torn up American dance floors from east coast to west coast (and everywhere between), plays Canada on a yearly basis, and makes fans groove worldwide. He had shared the stage with producers such as GRiZ, Hixxy, Brisk, Impact, Mark Smith, Angerfist, Joey Riot, Kurt, Robbie Long, S3RL, Sc@r, Pikey, and many other legendary producers and dejays.
Slava is currently the owner of New York City’s only Happy Hardcore recording label Galaxy Express Recordings, which launched in 2009. In January 2014, Slava also co-founded his first original production project Apocalypse Friends, who’s music is a lethal concotion of hardcore, DnB, and trance with classical piano, Nintendocore, and ska. Along with his apocalypse friend (and partner-in-apoco-crime) Maria Flux, the duo has released an entirely original album, and has unending plans for more electronic-fusion albums as well as live performances (stay tuned!).
Many people wonder why Slava picked the dejay name Candy Kid. The real story behind the name goes back to when Slava was growing up in Belarus, and he ate so much candy he earned the nickname Sweet-Tooth. Before arriving in America, he had never heard of kandi/kandi-kids (etc). While a lot of people think he chose the name DJ Candy Kid because of its social reception, the name is as simple as syrup — Slava loves sugar.
But don’t let the name fool you – Candy Kid can throw down some hard and dirty beats, showing you that even the sweetest people have a dark-side. Fueling the crowd with happiness and providing an outlet for self-expression is always the biggest reward for Slava. His infections love and endless energy are what truly defines DJ Candy Kid.

—-CIK vs
K.O.R.E

K.O.R.E. started his journey into the sounds of Hardcore/Gabber back in the end of 1995 when he was introduced to
it by his good friend Keith aka DJ Cetra a fellow dj and good friend. Once he heard that sound he knew he had just
heard something special, something different, something that connected with him. Since then K.O.R.E. was hooked
and made the decision then and there to be a part of the Hardcore scene. Soon after K.O.R.E. purchased two
turntables a mixer and twelve records, also downloaded ModTracker and started to get to work. With no one to teach
him he just listened to his favorite artists and soon developed his own sound through hard work and practice.
After a little time K.O.R.E. moved to from CA to AZ and started to play small shows in the valley, word got around and
K.O.R.E. was introduced to Dj Cik from the Arizona hardcore junkies back in the late 90’s. K.O.R.E. became a
member and AZHCJ started to play all across the United States and overseas. Shortly after joining the Junkies
K.O.R.E. and Forsaken is Dead start Six Feet Underground records. With his hard work, dedication and passion to
the sound expect to see even more from K.O.R.E. and he will show why Hardcore will never die! Keep an eye out for
future releases and collabs in the very near future. Also you can check collaboration projects out from GodSquad and
KOREHunter.

Our Second Local DJ Announcement

—–Pac D

Pac D has been a long time driving force in the soulful Drum’nBass realm of the Arizona music scene. He cut his teeth on the jump up styles of the late 90’s, and moved into the harder roller sound in 2000. Frustrated by the lacking human element of music he took on a different role, teaching others to play records and giving his pupils an understanding of electronic music. While on hiatus from playing he found an organic style of the likes of Omni Trio and LTJ Bukem. Upon his return to the decks in early 2002, Pac D had a new found focus on promoting the organic and soulful sides of DnB. After being more active in the studio, a few releases and remixes have opened up his format. From trap to drum and bass and everything in between can be found in his collection

—- Displacement- D&B

Bringing Phoenix’s finest Drum and Bass. His passion for mixing, skills, and energy is what makes his sets one of a kind, and not one to be missed.
